Margaret de Leon

Margaret de Leon is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, where she conducts research on financial aid policy, student employment, and postsecondary persistence. Her work examines how financial aid structures shape student labor market participation, career trajectories, and economic mobility, with a comparative focus on the U.S. and Canada. Margaret is the Founder and Executive Director of the Persistence Project, a research initiative that develops policy solutions to improve student persistence and workforce outcomes. She has authored multiple policy briefs on student financial aid, work-integrated learning, and access to higher education. As a CCWT Affiliate, Margaret aims to collaborate on research projects that explore the intersections of financial aid, student labor markets, and workforce transitions, with a focus on equity and institutional change.
