This past semester at CCWT has been a whirlwind of creativity, connection, and growth. As the Marketing and Communications Intern, I was brought on board to help shape a strategic communications plan for CCWT’s social media presence. My first task: reviewing social media analytics to understand where we stood and where there was room to grow.
To gain perspective, I explored how competing organizations were communicating online. I took note of their use of strong visuals and community-centered messaging to invite audiences into conversation, rather than simply sharing information. This led me to define a new content strategy for CCWT: weekly posts, engaging graphics, and amplifying student and affiliate voices.
As CCWT’s Fall Conference approached in November, my work shifted toward telling the story of the event by highlighting diverse presenters, sharing program details, and building excitement in the weeks leading up to the weekend. Before my internship, CCWT’s social media growth had plateaued. Now, in two and a half months, I have helped add 49 new followers (a 13% increase) and doubled our overall impressions.
Looking ahead to the spring semester, I’m excited to begin work on new marketing projects and continuing my learning journey. Thank you to the CCWT team for this great opportunity, and I’m looking forward to another great semester!
